Campus Parking Information

Parking Requirements:

All students must present their state registration card to their vehicle and a valid state driver’s license and the accurately completed information sheet to receive a parking permit.  Parking permits will be sold in the student center on August 9, 2006 for $5.  No Parking Permits will be issued to persons lacking the required information.  Students parking vehicles on campus MUST purchase and display a parking permit.  A parking permit must be displayed on the rearview mirror. The following guidelines apply to students driving vehicles to school:

  • Students are to park in either of the two large parking lots except for the two rows nearest the building, which are reserved for teachers.
  • Vehicles must be parked in one slot (between the yellow lines) and not along curbs, etc.  The vehicle must be parked forward in the space and not backed into the slot.
  • Maximum speed on campus is 5 mph.
  • Any vehicle parked in a school-approved area is subject to search and must display a parking permit.
  • Violation of parking rules will result in the loss of parking privileges and the vehicle is subject to being towed at the owner’s expenses.
  • All students who drive must register their primary vehicle with the administration. A permit should be placed on the rearview mirror to identify the vehicle as a student’s car and to park in other lots.
  • No music that is audible outside the vehicle will be permitted on campus.
  • Do not leave valuables in your vehicles and lock your doors.  Southwood High School is not responsible for any stolen items or items that are damaged.

Parking Lots

Students are prohibited from remaining in vehicles, loitering in the parking lots after arriving on campus and re-entering the parking lots during the school day without authorization from the office. The exit gates on the north and south lots will be locked during the school day.  Students are to immediately enter vehicles and exit the lots at the end of the school day.  Violation could result in loss of parking privileges.  Reckless operation of a vehicle on or around the school campus will result in the loss of parking privileges on campus and disciplinary action taken.
