Southwood H.S. Multi-Cultural Studies Asssoc. (MSA) was one of 26 local organizations who volunteered in the national “Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup” day, Saturday, April 10, 2010. Students worked to clean the parking lots, ditches, waterways and the busy streets of Mansfield Rd., between the intersections of Jewella Ave. and Bert Kouns Ind. Loop. The event was sponsored by Shreveport Green, which provided free t-shirts. Food and games followed the clean-up at the LA State Fairgrounds, where our collected trash was weighed. MSA sponsors would like to thank each one of our volunteers for a day well spent in serving our community. What a wonderful way to “GO GREEN!”
